Maisarah

Maisarah
The Wooden Devils by Harm Evers (Viva La Symphonie I & Taiwan Music Exchange Concert)

Maisarah started her musician journey at the age of 13 in 2001, when she joined the Coral Secondary School Chinese Orchestra and took up the yangqin and then the percussion later on.

Her musician journey as a novice percussionist started when she joined the Chestnut Drive Secondary School Concert Band under the baton of Mr Leonard Tan in 2002. With barely any music knowledge, she strived to excel in percussion and self-learn the music theory.

In 2005, she joined the Republic Polytechnic Wind Symphony and honed her percussion skills for 3 years, where she received music tutelage by various experienced percussionist. In 2007, she was given an opportunity to perform a xylophone solo piece with the band, under the baton of CPT Muhamad Yusri.

Apart from being an active member of the Republic Polytechnic Wind Symphony and the Republic Polytechnic Alumni Wind Symphony, she is also closely affiliated to Singapore Wind Symphony Youth Winds since 2005, and was then promoted into the Singapore Wind Symphony in 2008. She has also been given numerous opportunities to perform as a guest player with other external community bands and organisations such as Singapore Wind Symphony Percussion Ensemble, Clementi Town Alumni Wind Ensemble, Kim Seng Wind Symphony, Sembawang Symphonic Winds and Sembawang Symphonic Orchestra, Centre for New Life Wind Ensemble and Braddell Heights Chamber Ensemble.
